John Calipari says Bam Adebayo ‘created a position, the point-center’

The Miami Heat big man is averaging 17.5 points, 11.2 rebounds and 4.9 assist in the Playoffs, shooting 55% from the field and 81% from the foul line.

Kentucky Wildcats coach John Calipari talks with Marc Stein about one of his several former players who have been successful in the NBA, Bam Adebayo.

“He created a position. He’s a point-center. Tell me the last one,” Calipari said. “And I mean truly a point-center. Not a big guy who can pass. He can bounce it and get by you. He can make bang-bang plays like a point guard. He can do Eurosteps. And he’s still going to rebound and block shots.”

The Miami Heat big man is averaging 17.5 points, 11.2 rebounds and 4.9 assist in the Playoffs, shooting 55% from the field and 81% from the foul line.

He had this Game-Winning Block in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics.
