“I missed Partizan and the games”
The new Partizan is still taking shape, but Joffrey Lauvergne believes the Serbian powerhouse has everything it needs to have a successful season.
One of the most experienced players on the roster is ready for a fresh start and says he is feeling good physically.
“I didn’t miss training, I missed Partizan and the games. I trained, but I also rested. I feel good and I’m ready for the season.”
Asked about his health, Lovernj was clear:
“Yes, I’m healthy. Everything is okay, everything is fine.”
“We need time to build a team”
Partizan significantly revamped its roster during the summer, meaning the team will need time to develop chemistry.
“We have a good team. Now we have to work and I think we need time to build a team. It won’t be easy, but we have everything we need.”
Joffrey Lauvergne has also had more time to work with new head coach Peñarroya, who expects the veteran to provide leadership.
“He wants me to be a good example for everyone and to fight. I have to fight. We’ll see how it goes, but as I said, I feel good and I’m playing well.”
“Lamar Stevens has been a pleasant surprise”
Among the team’s many new additions, one player has particularly caught Joffrey Lauvergne’s attention.
“Everyone is good, but I think Lamar has been a pleasant surprise for me. He’s really strong and understands the game well. I think he’ll be great.”
Stevens could therefore become one of the key pieces in the new-look Partizan roster.
Excitement ahead of the return in front of the fans
After two and a half months, Joffrey Lauvergne and Partizan will once again play in front of their supporters.
Although the game will be played on the road, a large number of Partizan fans are expected to attend.
“Yes, of course. I’m excited. I know we’re playing away, but it will be packed. We’re all excited.”
