ASVEL is undergoing a major restructuring after its projected budget dropped from €59 million to €24 million. At the center of the club’s future could be Joey and Jesse Buss, the former Los Angeles Lakers owners, who are actively negotiating a potential takeover.
The deal was initially expected to be completed by September, but the complexity of the acquisition has pushed the timeline toward the end of 2026.
The main issue remains ASVEL’s valuation. Minority shareholders had initially targeted a €120 million payout, but negotiations with the Buss brothers have reportedly brought the figure down to between €60 million and €80 million.
