Despite the major changes and reduced budget surrounding the French club, the big man is expected to honor his agreement with the Villeurbanne side.

Joel Bolomboy is set to remain with ASVEL Villeurbanne for the 2026-27 season. According to BasketNews, several EuroLeague clubs and teams from other markets had shown interest in the big man, but his agreement with ASVEL remains in place despite the club’s reduced budget and numerous departures.

Bolomboy’s arrival has yet to be officially announced by ASVEL. Patty Mills, another high-profile addition, is also reportedly expected to remain in Villeurbanne despite the significant changes surrounding the club’s project.

Meanwhile, three other notable offseason additions have already moved elsewhere. Sylvain Francisco signed a long-term deal with Panathinaikos, while Daniel Theis joined Maccabi Tel Aviv. Armoni Brooks, meanwhile, was sent on a season-long loan to Valencia Basket.
