Jean Montero delivered a standout performance as the Dominican Republic earned a crucial road victory against Brazil. The new Olympiacos point guard scored 30 points to help his national team advance toward the final phase of the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Montero shot 9-of-14 from the field and 5-of-9 from three-point range, while adding four rebounds, three assists and two steals in nearly 39 minutes. He also committed six turnovers and is now averaging 15.8 points and 5.0 assists in the Qualifiers.
Real Madrid guard Andres Feliz added 24 points, nine assists and just one turnover. Leo Meindl led Brazil with 19 points, while Raul Neto contributed 14 points and seven assists, with Bruno Caboclo also featuring for the hosts.
