Jazz, Jusuf Nurkic out at least four weeks with foot injury

Nurkic sidelined for at least a month

Jusuf Nurkic will miss at least four weeks after suffering a partial plantar plate tear of the second toe in his right foot.

The Bosnian center re-signed with the Utah Jazz this offseason on a three-year, $22 million contract.

Expected to play a major role in Utah

Nurkic appeared in 41 games for the Jazz last season, averaging 10.9 points, 10.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 26.4 minutes per game.

He was again expected to play a major role at center for Utah, particularly following the departure of Walker Kessler, who joined the Los Angeles Lakers.
