Jason Williams has described VJ Edgecombe as the best fifth option he has ever seen in the NBA. Speaking on the Hoopin’ N Hollerin’ podcast, the former point guard highlighted the depth of Philadelphia’s roster.

“Name one better? Edgecombe’s the fifth option,” Williams said, adding that he would choose the young guard over both Shane Battier and DeMarcus Cousins.

Selected third overall in the 2025 NBA Draft, Edgecombe averaged 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.4 steals during his rookie season, finishing third in Rookie of the Year voting.
