Fenerbahce will host Virtus Bologna tomorrow in the opening round of the 2026-27 EuroLeague season. Ahead of the game, head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius and Nicolo Melli spoke to the media at the Ülker Sports and Events Hall.
Jasikevicius said: “We are very excited to start the EuroLeague season in front of our fans and to play again at the Ülker Sports and Events Hall. Bologna is a heavily revamped team, with many players experiencing the competition for the first time. We are sure they will be highly motivated against us. They play at a high tempo and look to shoot within the first eight seconds of the offensive possession. First of all, we’ll have to control the tempo and prevent them from scoring too many easy baskets.”
Melli added: “We are happy to start the EuroLeague season at home. Obviously, like every other game in this competition, it will be a tough challenge. We have a very revamped roster and at this stage of the season there are still many things we need to discover and fine-tune. We are especially excited to start the season at home, with the support of our fans.”
