Jared Butler signed a contract in recent days that will tie him to Crvena Zvezda for the next two seasons. The player gave his first interview as a Red and White member to Meridian Sport — here are his statements.
On his first impressions:
“I’m happy to be a Crvena Zvezda player. I’m excited to be here and I want to stay for a long time. Everything is fantastic.”
On the reasons behind his move to Europe:
“The relationship my agent built with the people at Zvezda was extremely important in making this transfer happen, and the atmosphere created when playing for Zvezda was definitely a decisive factor. I talked to Jordan Nwora and Devonte’ Graham about the club — they told me they love it here, that I’ll feel great, and to call them as soon as I land.”
On what he knows about Crvena Zvezda:
“Honestly, I don’t know that much, but I know about the atmosphere. I’ll definitely learn a lot, but in the end, it’s just basketball. So, I’ll play to the best of my ability and try to put on a show.”
