James Harden and the Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a three-year contract worth approximately $97 million, including a player option for the final season and a 15% trade kicker.
The news was first reported by Shams Charania, while Michael Scotto revealed the details of the trade kicker and added that the deal is fully guaranteed.
With the new contract, Harden will become the fourth player in NBA history to surpass $500 million in career earnings from contracts signed, joining Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
The 11-time All-Star worked with Cleveland’s front office to facilitate the sign-and-trade that will also bring Peyton Watson to Ohio.
