Jalen Brunson has no intention of calling himself the “King of New York.” Speaking on the Road Trippin’ Show, the Knicks star said he has never used the nickname and believes doing so would make him appear self-centered.

Brunson credited his family and longtime friends from high school and college with keeping him grounded: “They keep me humble. But it’s a true credit to my parents.”

The guard led New York to its first NBA championship since 1973 and earned Finals MVP honors. He averaged 28.4 points and 6.1 assists during the playoffs.
