Jabari Smith Jr. will sign a five-year, $122 million extension with the Houston Rockets, per Shams Charania. The fully guaranteed deal keeps Smith under contract through the 2030-31 season.

The No. 3 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Smith helped Houston secure the No. 2 seed in the West last season, averaging 12.2 points and 7 rebounds despite a mid-season hand injury. He impressed in the playoffs, shooting 45.5% from three-point range.

The Rockets made it clear Smith was untouchable during Kevin Durant trade talks, confirming his place in their long-term core. Houston has also re-signed VanVleet, extended Steven Adams and coach Udoka, and remains committed to building a contender around Durant and Smith.
