The extravagant gift comes at a pivotal moment in Morant’s career. After several seasons marked by injuries, NBA suspensions, and uncertainty surrounding his future with the Memphis Grizzlies, the star guard is preparing for a fresh start with the Portland Trail Blazers following his trade in June 2026.
Over the past three seasons, Morant appeared in only 79 regular-season games, with injuries repeatedly interrupting his progress. His 2025-26 campaign ended early after suffering a severe sprain of the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow, an injury that required platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment.
