Ja Morant exited his first game against former team Memphis with a left hamstring injury and will undergo further evaluation

Ja Morant’s first game against his former team ended early. The Portland Trail Blazers guard left the fourth quarter of a 124-103 loss to Memphis with a left hamstring injury.

Morant finished with 14 points and three assists in 23 minutes before being ruled out for the remainder of the game. Coach Micah Nori said Morant felt a twinge in the hamstring and that more information is expected after further evaluation.

“I’m hoping that it’s nothing major, obviously,” Nori said. Morant is in his first season with Portland after spending the first seven years of his NBA career with Memphis.
