The official measurements from the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago took place yesterday, with Italian prospect Luigi Suigo ranking second among all participants in height without shoes at 220 centimeters, trailing only Spanish center Aday Mara at 221 cm.
Suigo also finished as the heaviest prospect at approximately 131 kilograms, while ranking third in wingspan and second in standing reach among players in attendance.
ESPN draft expert Jonathan Givony described Suigo’s measurements as “absurd” and currently projects Villanova as the most likely destination for next season.
The young Italian big man still has one month to decide whether to withdraw his name from the NBA Draft.
UPDATE: Suigo stated that he will remain in the draft only if he has guarantees of being selected within the top 20 picks.
The center also mentioned BYU and Villanova among the programs most interested, with BYU reportedly ready to invest heavily in a top frontcourt prospect.
