IOC, Bach: “Canceling Tokyo 2020 would destroy the Olympic dream”

IOC President has dismissed once again the possible moving or cancelling of the Olympics due to Coronavirus.

In an interview with German radio SWR Sport, IOC president Thomas Bach has reinforced the intention of not cancelling Tokyo 2020, saying that “it would destroy the Olympic dream of more than 11,000 athletes from 206 national olympic committees and IOC refugees team”.

Bach has also said that “moving the Olympics is not like cancelling a football match” and has admitted to be sympathetic with the athletes for the difficult training conditions due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
