Indiana Pacers guard Bennedict Mathurin has been suspended one game without pay for inappropriate contact and verbal abuse toward an official.
The incident occurred late in Tuesday’s loss to Cleveland. Mathurin apologized after the game, saying his emotions got the better of him during the intense matchup.
The suspension will cost him $41,642 and sideline him for Thursday’s game in Detroit. He’s averaging 16.5 points per game this season.
