The defensive ace re-signs with Indiana through 2029 after a breakout year

According to Shams Charania (ESPN), Aaron Nesmith and the Indiana Pacers have agreed to a two-year, $40.4 million extension with a trade kicker, keeping the forward under contract through the 2028-29 season.

Nesmith posted career highs across the board last season — 51% FG, 43% 3PT, and 91% FT — averaging 12 points and four rebounds. He started all 23 playoff games, guarding elite scorers like Jalen Brunson, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Darius Garland.

He also made history by shooting 49.2% from three on over 100 attempts, the highest playoff percentage ever recorded under those conditions. The Pacers lock in one of their most valuable two-way players for the long term.
