Houston believes in its current roster and is counting on the returns of Fred VanVleet and Steven Adams.

The Houston Rockets are not expected to make major trades during the NBA season. According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, the franchise believes in its current roster and views Fred VanVleet’s return as its biggest addition.

“They’ve got a bunch of picks, and they’re not burning a hole in their pocket. They really like what they have now. Their big move was getting Fred VanVleet back. Another big move will be getting Steven Adams back,” MacMahon said.

Houston wants to let the season unfold rather than make a major midseason shake-up. The team believes its current group has significant potential after injuries to VanVleet and Adams prevented it from fully showing what it could achieve last season.
