Kevin Durant added another milestone Sunday night: scoring 18 points in the Houston Rockets’ 119-110 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, he passed Dirk Nowitzki to move into sixth on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
Durant now has 31,562 career points, two more than Nowitzki (31,560), with Michael Jordan fifth at 32,292.
Durant called it “insane” to be alongside an idol like Nowitzki and said he wants to “keep stacking” and see where he finishes on the charts.
A congratulatory video message from Nowitzki was shown on the arena board postgame, praising Durant as “one of the purest scorers” the game has ever seen.
