The Houston Rockets have announced that Fred VanVleet has undergone successful surgery. VanVleet required reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee after the injury he sustained.
The point guard could return to the court in 9–10 months, which means he would rejoin his teammates this season only in the event of a playoff run (though his condition would still need to be evaluated). Therefore, the Rockets risk losing their starting point guard for the entire season.
