The Charlotte Hornets have announced a contract extension for head coach Charles Lee, rewarding him after a remarkable second half of the regular season.
Led by LaMelo Ball, the Hornets posted the best net rating in the NBA in games played during 2026.
The starting lineup featuring Ball alongside Brandon Miller, Miles Bridges, Knueppel, and Moussa Diabaté outscored opponents by more than 25 points per 100 possessions across the 462 minutes used by coach Lee in those games.
Charlotte will also hold two first-round picks in the upcoming NBA Draft: its own selection and the one acquired from the Orlando Magic.
