Heat trade Dewayne Dedmon to Spurs

The Spurs, who are still under the salary floor, gain a future asset.

While waiting for the usual fireworks of the last 24 hours, the Miami Heat have reached an agreement with the San Antonio Spurs on a minor trade.

Big man Dewayne Dedmon goes to the Texan team for a 2028 second-round pick.

With this deal, the Heat drop about 5 million from the Luxury Tax threshold, and free up another roster spot, useful for both eventual trades and the buyout market.

The Spurs, who are still under the salary floor, gain a future asset.

In all likelihood Dedmon will be released, as his contract for next season is not guaranteed.
