Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv are pleased to announce the signing of Czech point guard Tomas Satoransky on a one-year contract through the end of the 2026/27 season.
Satoransky (34 years old, 2.01 m), one of the most experienced and respected point guards in European basketball over the past decade, joins Hapoel after four seasons with FC Barcelona. During the 2025/26 EuroLeague season, he averaged 7.0 points, 4.3 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 0.7 steals per game while shooting 49.4% from two-point range and 48.9% from beyond the arc. In the Spanish League, he posted 6.3 points, 3.9 assists, 2.5 rebounds and shot 40.0% from three-point range.
He began his professional career with USK Prague before moving to Sevilla in Spain, where he took his first steps at the highest level of European basketball. He later spent two seasons with Barcelona before moving to the NBA, where he played six seasons with the Washington Wizards, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs. In the summer of 2022, he returned to Barcelona for a second stint before joining Hapoel Tel Aviv.
Satoransky is regarded as one of the most successful national team players in Europe in recent years, having led the Czech Republic to unprecedented achievements, including a sixth-place finish at the FIBA World Cup, seventh place at the EuroBasket and qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where he was one of the team’s leaders.
