Hapoel Tel Aviv are battling Fenerbahçe for Nigel Hayes-Davis, banking on Dimitris Itoudis’ personal ties to seal the deal

After the loss to Hapoel Jerusalem, Hapoel Tel Aviv are still focused on a major market move: Nigel Hayes-Davis, formerly a key piece at Fenerbahçe and recently waived in the NBA.

Reports say Hapoel have put a $10 million, two-and-a-half-year proposal on the table, with Hayes-Davis expected to choose between them and Fenerbahçe. Club sources added: “Our offer is higher — he has 24 hours,” while the Itoudis connection is seen as a key factor.

Hayes-Davis left the EuroLeague as a champion with Fenerbahçe, then sought an NBA foothold but struggled for minutes: 27 games, just over 7 minutes per night, 1.3 points and 1.2 rebounds, before being moved to Milwaukee and waived.
