Ofer Yannay reveals Hapoel Tel Aviv’s total budget is around €70 million, with a reported net player payroll of approximately €29 million

Ofer Yannay has revealed that Hapoel Tel Aviv is operating with a total budget of around €70 million for the 2026-27 season. The club owner, however, explained why he believes a direct comparison with other EuroLeague powers would be misleading.

According to Israeli media, Hapoel’s net player payroll is around €29 million. “Our budget? Yeah, around €70 million. Everything considered: taxation and everything,” Yannay told Sportal. He pointed to the club’s second base in Sofia, where Hapoel plays its EuroLeague home games, and higher taxation compared with Greece as additional costs.

Yannay also cited Israeli league roster rules, which allow only five imports, as another factor increasing expenses. “If you subtract these three dimensions, I think it’s supposed to be like €55 million, which means we are probably in the same area as Olympiacos and Panathinaikos.” He added that Hapoel may also need to pay a premium because it is not yet an established EuroLeague franchise and due to the situation in Israel.
