Hapoel Tel Aviv and EuroLeague executives meet in Tel Aviv: “Positive talks aimed at bringing games back to Israel”

During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of bringing EuroLeague games back to Israel. The talks took place in a positive atmosphere, and the club continues to work with EuroLeague management to make the return of games to Israel possible as soon as possible.

Later in the day, club owner Gili Raanan, chairman Stav Shacham and sporting director George Hinas will meet with EuroLeague representatives, alongside representatives from Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Jerusalem. Three Hapoel players will also attend the meeting: Tomas Satoransky, Zach LeDay and Vasilije Micic.

Club chairman Stav Shacham said: “We thank EuroLeague management for the visit and for their willingness to engage in open and positive dialogue on an issue that is extremely important to our club and to Israeli basketball as a whole. Our goal is clear: to bring EuroLeague games back to Israel as soon as possible and allow our fans to experience the team playing at home, in front of our own crowd. We will continue to work determinedly and cooperatively to advance this goal.”

Club owner Ofer Yannay added: “Hapoel’s home is in Israel, alongside our fans. We attach great importance to direct dialogue with EuroLeague management and believe that continued cooperation, in a positive spirit and with an understanding of the realities and challenges involved, will help us move closer to our goal. We will do everything in our power to bring EuroLeague games back to Israel as soon as possible.”
