Hapoel Jerusalem is preparing to submit an official offer to purchase a type B license that would allow the team to join the EuroLeague for the next three seasons, starting from a base proposal of €5 million.
With Maccabi Tel Aviv holding an A license and Hapoel Tel Aviv having earned its spot via the EuroCup title, Hapoel Jerusalem seeks to be Israel’s third representative in the top-tier European competition.
Driving the initiative is club owner Matan Adelson, part of the family involved with the Dallas Mavericks ownership. The move also reflects a strategic push to strengthen EuroLeague’s visibility in the U.S. and Asia.
