Hapoel Jerusalem is making a strong push toward the EuroLeague. According to BasketNews, the Israeli club has formally submitted a proposal for a two-year license in the competition.
The bid comes at a key moment, with EuroLeague shareholders expected to discuss the 2026-27 lineup on June 16. With JL Bourg set to remain outside despite winning the EuroCup and AS Monaco’s participation still tied to its financial situation, Hapoel is trying to position itself for any available spot.
The club is also planning ahead on the bench. Per BasketNews sources, Sasa Obradovic is set to join on a three-year deal. The Serbian coach, formerly of Red Star and Monaco, brings EuroLeague experience after leading Belgrade to the Play-In and Monaco to three straight playoff appearances, including the 2023 Final Four.
