Hamburg Towers have emerged as a possible replacement for AS Monaco in the next BKT EuroCup. According to German journalist Rupert Fabig, there is a real possibility that the German club could take Monaco’s spot in the competition.

Monaco are facing a difficult financial situation. After losing their EuroLeague place to Besiktas, the club could now also risk its participation in EuroCup. The matter appears tied to Monaco’s ability to secure the necessary funding to compete in the 2026-27 season.

Despite Jamal Mashburn taking over the club, Monaco have reportedly not yet secured even their place in the French LNB, though they still have the right to appeal. In that scenario, Hamburg could benefit from a potential withdrawal or exclusion, returning to EuroCup after several seasons away from the competition.
