Tyrese Haliburton has spoken out after tearing his right Achilles in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. The Indiana Pacers guard suffered the injury after playing through a calf strain sustained in Game 5. “I’d do it again, and again after that,” he wrote in a heartfelt message.
Haliburton’s postseason included game-winners in each round, but it ended tragically just five minutes into the deciding game. Despite being listed as questionable, he suited up and gave it one last try before collapsing in visible pain.
“I’ve worked my whole life for this,” he posted. “Now that I’ve had surgery, I know this journey will be tough—but I’m grateful for it. Watch how I come back. I’ll dust myself off and return as the best version of Tyrese Haliburton.”
Man. Don’t know how to explain it other than shock. Words cannot express the pain of this letdown. The frustration is unfathomable. I’ve worked my whole life to get to this moment and this is how it ends? Makes no sense.
