Marius Grigonis described his Panathinaikos experience as “organized chaos.” Speaking to Zalgiris.lt in an interview reported by BasketNews, the Lithuanian still called the EuroLeague-winning period one of the best stretches of his career.
Grigonis was more critical when discussing Ergin Ataman: “He completely distances himself from the players. There is no communication at all.” He recalled occasionally learning that he had been selected for a road game only after leaving practice.
The 32-year-old also criticized the handling of his rehabilitation following back surgery, citing conflicting medical opinions and repeated trips to Germany that he arranged himself. However, he stressed that he maintained good relationships with the club owner and sporting director.
