Expectations are rising that Kristaps Porzingis will remain with the Golden State Warriors this offseason. According to Marc Stein, with the report echoed by multiple U.S. outlets, the Latvian big man is increasingly seen as likely to work out a new deal with Golden State after being acquired at the trade deadline.
Speculation has also been fueled by Porzingis’ recent public praise for Rick Celebrini, the Warriors’ vice president of player health, whom he called the “GOAT.” That quote has been viewed as another sign of the strong connection developing between the player and the franchise.
Since joining Golden State, Porzingis has averaged 17.1 points in 10 games, underlining why the Warriors are believed to be interested in keeping him beyond this season.
