Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green suspended indefinitely

The NBA has suspended Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green indefinitely for striking Phoenix Suns centre Jusuf Nurkić

The NBA has suspended Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green indefinitely for striking Phoenix Suns centre Jusuf Nurkić in the face during Tuesday night’s game.

Green, who received a Flagrant 2 and was ejected for the third time this season, will have to meet certain conditions before he can return to the court.

The league is considering the recidivism of Green, who is known for his unsportsmanlike behaviour, before deciding on the length of the suspension.

Mike Dunleavy Jr., general manager of the Warriors, Green’s agent, Rich Paul, and Green himself will discuss a course of counselling and assistance on Thursday. Green will lose $153,941 per game if the suspension is less than 20 games and $202,922 per game if more than 20.

This is already Green’s second suspension this season. The NBA’s decision comes after several controversies Green has been involved in, including an assault on former teammate Jordan Poole during training camp last year.

Green, 33, has been ejected 18 times in his career, the most among active players in the NBA.
