Giannis Antetokounmpo shuts down Miami Heat extension questions: “It’s too early”

The Miami star wants to focus on the upcoming season and joked about the iguana at his house, while expressing confidence in his fit with Bam Adebayo.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was asked about the possibility of signing a contract extension with the Miami Heat after an iguana showed up at his house. The two-time MVP immediately made it clear that he wants to focus on the upcoming season rather than discuss his future.

“I won’t take any extension questions. I want to focus on this season. I don’t even want to go there, it’s too early. But if the iguanas keep on coming, I’ll probably move. Maybe get an apartment across the street.”

Giannis was also asked about how he and Bam Adebayo will fit together on the court, but he is not concerned about their compatibility.

“When you have two hard-working guys who are about the right things, eventually it’s going to look good. Defense will be incredible, and on offense he’s able to space the floor and knock down shots. I’m going to try and do the same. When you have guys who approach the game the same way, it’s not going to be hard. It’s hard when you have guys who are about themselves. I don’t think he’s about himself.”
