A complex moment, to say the least, for Gianmarco Pozzecco. His Asvel team falls to Partizan in Belgrade, and the Italbasket coach must inevitably respond to rumours that he is close to being fired. This is his answer.

The first answer is ironic and refers to the same rumours that came out in France: ‘I don’t speak French, so I can’t comment, even if I read them, I don’t understand. You have to ask my club’.

Pozzecco then, turning serious, clarifies the reports: ‘I’m in contact with them. We are talking. We’ve started talking about what we have to do. They know what I think. But as a coach I never complain. I have to do my job. And of course this is not the place where I have to say something about our strategy’.

Then, regarding the rumours: ‘The question should be put to them. I have nothing to add. This is the life of a coach. When you work in sport, it can happen that something goes, let’s say, in another direction. But I continue to work hard. Even today I did my best with the players. So I am not the right person to ask’.
