Germany beat Croatia 91-89 in overtime to avenge the earlier 93-88 loss: top scorers Mario Hezonja 30 and Johannes Thiemann 24, with Oscar da Silva 15 and Jaleen Smith 12 also central. Thiemann posted 24 points and 12 rebounds, da Silva added a double-double (15 and 11 rebounds), while Smith finished with 12 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.
Croatia led by 15 in the third quarter (63-48) but couldn’t hold on as Germany forced overtime at 77-77. Germany had two chances to win it in regulation, but David Kramer missed both attempts, and Hezonja nearly buried a half-court buzzer-beater.
In the extra period, the hosts rode the momentum and executed just enough to secure the 91-89 win. The result moves both teams to 3-1 in Group E, with Israel at 2-2 and Cyprus still winless after four games.
