Georgios Papagiannis to miss EuroBasket 2025 with Greece

The Greek center has informed the federation of his decision. Official reasons will be announced soon

Giorgos Papagiannis has notified Vassilis Spanoulis and the Greek Basketball Federation that he will not compete at EuroBasket 2025. The player is expected to explain the reasons for his withdrawal later today.

Papagiannis saw limited minutes with Monaco during the final stretch of the 2024-25 season, playing under Spanoulis. He averaged 5.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in France, and 7.3 points with 3.4 rebounds in the EuroLeague.

Greece must now look for a new center, with Karagiannidis, Kostas Antetokounmpo, and Zougris as main candidates. Call-ups are expected by Tuesday.
