Georgios Bartzokas: Personal attacks affect me very little, I know how the system works

Olympiacos coach Giorgos Bartzokas addressed media backlash after the EuroLeague Final Four loss, reaffirming his focus ahead of the Greek League Finals

Ahead of Game 1 of the Greek League Finals between Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, Giorgos Bartzokas spoke about the disappointment of the EuroLeague semifinal loss and the wave of criticism that followed. “Personal attacks affect me from not at all to very little. I know how the system works,” said the veteran coach, referencing the role of anonymous social media criticism in today’s sports world.

With Nigel Williams-Goss questionable and decisions pending on the foreigner rotation, Bartzokas shifted focus to the domestic title: “We must fight with passion, pride, and desire for our club.”

He also supported the idea of ending the European season with the Final Four, noting it’s a complex issue due to differing league structures. “I trust the right people will make the best decision for basketball’s future,” he added.
