George Aivazoglou will provide a public update on the NBA’s plans for its new European league. The event is scheduled for October 8 in London, just days after the EuroLeague shareholders’ meeting in Como.
According to Eurohoops, the NBA Europe managing director will appear on the panel “NBA Europe: A ‘now and forever’ bet on global expansion” during Leaders Week in London. The session promises “a live update on the NBA’s industry-shifting plans to launch a new league in Europe in 2027.”
The agenda will also cover “the investment case for franchisees: where is the value, how will it be built, grown and realized,” as well as an inside look at what is being described as “one of the largest marketing campaigns of any consumer brand, period.”
The timing is notable, with the event coming just after EuroLeague discussions and two days after the Como meeting, where an announcement on the competition’s future is expected.
