George Aivazoglou, GM of NBA Europe, spoke at Bocconi University and confirmed Milan’s participation in the project, which could start in October 2027.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Milan is home to some of the world’s most famous brands,” said Aivazoglou. “There are two great soccer teams, there is a great basketball team, Armani, so there is no way we can forget Milan when we think about the cities we want in our league. There are many conversations underway with the city’s ecosystem to understand what the club will be like and what the arena will be like.

The roster hypothesis has been confirmed: London and Manchester for the United Kingdom, Paris and Lyon for France, Madrid and Barcelona for Spain, Berlin and Munich for Germany, plus one in Athens and one in Istanbul.”

It should be noted that it is not clear whether Rome is also being considered or is currently just a project.

“We know that there is a large fan base in Rome, we can revitalize some historic teams or create a new one.” These are the words of George Aivazoglou on Rome’s possible participation in the project.
