The wait is over: Garrison Mathews is an Olimpia Milano player. The 9 a.m. Italian deadline passed without NBA offers, meaning the early termination clause included in the contract in case of a call from the United States will not be exercised.
The American wing’s 1+1 deal with the club is now officially active. Mathews completes Peppe Poeta’s roster for the 2026-27 season, bringing shooting, size, NBA experience and a clear specialty: spacing the floor and punishing defenses from beyond the arc.
Olimpia Milano also protected the agreement from late European attempts, with Crvena Zvezda trying to enter the race in the final hours. The picture is now clear: after days of countdown, Milano’s market can be considered complete with the final perimeter piece in place.
