Galatasaray has reportedly been invited to take part in the upcoming NBA Europe, a joint initiative between FIBA and the NBA aiming to create a new continental club competition.
Club president Dursun Özbek confirmed the talks: “We received an invitation in Geneva last month. The concept isn’t finalized yet, but we’ll share updates as it develops.”
The NBA Europe project is expected to launch no earlier than fall 2027, potentially including both basketball powerhouses and major football clubs like PSG and Manchester United. As a recent FIBA Champions League finalist, Galatasaray is seen as a strong Istanbul candidate.
