France beat Hungary 74–71 in Szombathely on Sylvain Francisco’s game-winning three: Amine Noua (15) and Francisco (10) led Les Bleus, while Zoltan Perl (21) topped Hungary ahead of Zsombor Maronka (17). Francisco buried the shot from the right side with two seconds remaining to give France the lead.
Hungary had no time to answer, and Adam Somogyi’s long-range buzzer-beater missed. Francisco finished with 10 points, but became the hero in the closing seconds.
The turnaround was striking: on Feb. 25 he had just led Zalgiris to a thrilling double-overtime win over Olympiacos in Kaunas (EuroLeague Round 29). Within 48 hours and 1,200 kilometers, he delivered again for the French national team, with Amath Mbaye (13) and Benjamin Sene (12) also scoring in double figures.
