France has trimmed its roster ahead of Sunday’s game against Sweden. The French federation announced that Nadir Hifi, Yves Pons and Axel Bouteille will leave the national team and miss the upcoming road game.
All three players practiced with the squad but did not feature in France’s dominant 92-67 victory over Slovenia. Captain Victor Wembanyama led the French team in the opening game of the window.
Hifi can now return to Paris Basketball and rejoin the club’s preseason preparations. He averaged 18.9 points, 3.8 assists and 2.3 rebounds in last season’s EuroLeague, setting a competition record with 699 points in a single regular season.
