France will face the winner of USA-Spain in the Final

France are now just one win away from a historic FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup title after cruising past Germany 86-64 in Berlin. France controlled the Semi-Final from start to finish, taking the lead in the opening quarter and extending their advantage in each of the following periods.

With this result, France are guaranteed to win a medal at the World Cup for the first time in 73 years. For Germany, meanwhile, the dream of gold ends here, but they will have to regroup quickly and fight for the bronze medal in their final game of the tournament.

Gabby Williams dominated for France, leading all scorers with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in 31:19. She posted a game-high 31 efficiency rating and a +17 plus/minus, shooting an excellent 8-of-12 from the field and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line.

Janelle Salaun, sister of Charlotte Hornets forward Tidjane Salaun, recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, shooting 5-of-8 from the field. She was a key presence on the boards. Marine Johannes added 13 points, while Valeriane Ayayi contributed 10 points, 3 assists and 2 steals.

For Germany, Marie Guelich led the way with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Nyara Sabally also finished in double figures with 12 points.

France will face the winner of USA-Spain in the Final, with the game scheduled for 8:00 PM at the Berlin Arena.
