Saliou Niang remains at the center of NCAA rumors, with ESPN’s Fran Fraschilla also pointing to the Virtus Bologna talent

The Saliou Niang-NCAA topic continues to grow. After reports of major college offers, ESPN’s Fran Fraschilla has also named the Virtus Bologna player as a prospect to monitor.

Fraschilla described Niang as a “defensive demon” forward, already selected in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He also pointed to his All-Defensive Team tools and high-octane motor.

The comment further confirms how the new NIL landscape is changing the balance between Europe, NCAA and the NBA. Niang could become one of the most important cases in this new phase of the talent market.

My Euro friends tell me he’s about to hit the “lottery”—college-wise. Insane. LOL
