Former NBA forward Mickael Gelabale, now in Pro B with Elan Chalon, suffered a stroke while practicing last Monday.

During Monday morning’s training session, I experienced such symptoms that I was taken to the emergency room at Chalon Hospital. The MRI then detected a brain attack. Fortunately caught in time, I was treated immediately and underwent additional examinations in the intensive care unit and then in neurology. Today I am pleased to announce that I am back home” Gelabale said in a press release on Elan Chalon’s official website.

“However, I will have to rest for several weeks before resuming my professional activity and unfortunately I will not be able to return for the end of the season. I have good hope that the medical will gradually subside, which therefore does not exclude a return to the court when I am allowed to do so” he added (translation via Eurohoops).
