The injury drew comparisons to Paul George’s infamous leg injury suffered during a Team USA scrimmage in 2014.
Before the injury, the 36-year-old was leading the NLEX Road Warriors to the top spot in Group A with a 7-1 record, averaging 24.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
After going undrafted in 2012, Jones spent one NBA season with the Orlando Magic before continuing his professional career across Europe and Asia.
