A large fire caused significant damage to Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra’s home in Coral Gables, Florida, early Thursday morning, officials confirmed. No injuries were reported, and Spoelstra was not home when the blaze began.
The fire was reported at 4:36 a.m., just minutes before the Heat’s charter flight from Denver — where they played Wednesday night — landed in Miami at 5:11 a.m. Spoelstra arrived at the scene shortly after, as over 20 fire units battled the flames from both ground and air.
The blaze was contained after about three hours, with no nearby properties affected. Records show Spoelstra purchased the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home in December 2023.
